Teeth Whitening

In-office whitening for fast results, or custom take-home trays for gradual whitening at your own pace. Both work. Neither destroys your enamel.

Two honest paths to whiter teeth

In-office whitening — a single 60–90 minute appointment with concentrated professional-grade gel, giving you noticeable results immediately. Best for patients who want fast results or have an event coming up.

Take-home whitening trays — custom-fitted trays made from your digital scan, used with professional-grade gel over 2–3 weeks. Gentler on sensitivity and easier to maintain long-term. Best for patients willing to trade time for comfort.

Both are safe under dental supervision. Neither damages enamel when used as directed.

Generic approach

For most patients with moderate to severe grinding, custom is the better long-term value.

When whitening works well — and when it doesn't

Works well for:

  • Yellow-stained teeth from coffee, tea, wine, tobacco

  • Age-related yellowing

  • Mild surface stains from food and drink

Doesn't work well for:

  • Gray teeth (tetracycline stains, fluorosis) — better handled with veneers

  • Crowns, veneers, or fillings — whitening doesn't change restoration color

  • Teeth with internal discoloration from trauma or root canal — different approach needed

  • Patients with significant sensitivity or untreated cavities

The process (either option)

  1. Consultation and exam. Dr. Yeo confirms teeth are healthy for whitening.

  2. Screening. Any cavities, gum disease, or significant sensitivity addressed first.

  3. Whitening. Either a 60–90 minute office visit or 2–3 weeks of take-home use.

  4. Touch-up protocol. Take-home trays can be reused for periodic touch-ups.
